This post is in partnership with and sponsored by Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island but all opinions are my own.
If your family is visiting Ft. Myers & Sanibel Island The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina should be at the top of your list for accommodations. Their tagline is “the only thing we overlook is the beach”. After spending 5 nights there I can say I understand exactly what they mean and that they indeed live up to this expectation.
Apartment Style Rooms
Having a lot of space is ideal when traveling with kids. We stayed in the White Sands Villa which is perfect for families. Kids love to run around and it’s hard doing that in a cramped room. Kids also get messy easily but since you might not want to pack 3 weeks worth of clothes just because of multiple outfit changes in one day the villas with washers and dryers are a great amenity. These villas are also equipped with full kitchens, which is especially perfect for families traveling with babies who need warm and clean bottles. If you get a 2 or 3 bedroom villa it allows the parents some privacy as well instead of being in the same room with the kids while also allowing multi-generational families the ability to be in one villa and have privacy.
What kids don't love the beach? If you’re headed to Ft. Myers and Sanibel for a beach vacation staying at a beachfront property in a must! Easily walk from your room straight to the beach at Pink Shell. Lay in the sun or stay in the shade the with dedicated lounge chairs and umbrellas that come at no additional cost to guests! In addition to the free chairs and umbrellas guests are able to rent kayaks and paddle boards at no charge. There is also the option to pay for jet ski rentals or go parasailing right from the hotels property.
When traveling with a family meals can be one of the biggest expenses. Pink Shell makes breakfast easy and saves you some cash as the breakfast buffet at Jack’s is included for two adults each day of your stay. Kids 5 and under also eat for free so if you have young children you'll save even more. The buffet includes made to order omelets and a waffle station.
Amazing Pool & Kids Splash Pad
In addition to the main pool, which is gorgeous and has a shallow side there is also a dedicated kids splash pad area. The water here is less than a foot deep so even the smallest babies can enjoy.
Games by the Pool
In the pool area there are many games to play. From life sized checker boards and connect four games to table tennis and corn hole, it’s hard to say there isn’t anything to do even for kids with the shortest attention spans.
Free Movie Nights with Popcorn
Multiple nights a week the resort has a movie night with free freshly popped popcorn. If weather permits the movie is outside by the pool and if not it’s moved to their Lido Room indoors. The movies played are rated G, PG, and PG-13 so whether you have younger children or teens there should be at least one night with a movie option aligned with their interests.
You can never be bored at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina. Throughout the day there are various activities for all ages. Whether you are listening to the DJ play music by the pool, participating in the scavenger hunt for kids, or competing in beach volleyball the options are endless. When you check into the hotel they provide you with a calendar of events for each day and the daily activities are posted on a easel by the pool.
Pink Shell really knows how to make sure kids of all ages always have something to do. While it’s not free there is an arcade on the ground floor of the hotel that is open from 9AM-10PM. Games are a little pricey at a dollar each but it’s great when the kids are looking for something to do and the weather doesn’t allow for an outdoor activity.
As you can see there are so many benefits for families when choosing to stay at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina in Ft. Myers & Sanibel Island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning soon!
