So you're finally ready to travel with your little one and a cruise sounds like a great option. Depending on where you live you may not have to board a plane, it requires minimal planning as you can just pick and pay for whatever shore excursions you're interested in, and most ships have on-board childcare. Before you get too excited and start planning that cruise make sure your child is old enough to cruise.
Regardless of cruise line infants must be at least 6 months on the first day of departure. However for every cruise line except Norwegian if the itinerary is a transatlantic, transpacific, Hawaiian, or select South American cruises the infant must be 12 months on the first day of travel. In addition for all cruise ships if the cruise has 3 or more consecutive sea days your baby must also be 12 months prior to departure.
